Good Friday Prayer Breakfast

  • Sheraton Park Anaheim: Grand Ballroom 1855 South Harbor Boulevard Anaheim, CA, 92802 United States (map)

Guest Speakers: Jawid Rashidee, Former Afghan Interpreter for the US Military in Afghanistan Sadia Rashidee (wife), Ahmad and Heela (children)

Please join us for our 2022 Good Friday Prayer Breakfast, as we welcome our guest speaker Jawid Rashidee along with his wife Sadia, his son Ahmad and his daughter Heela. The Rashidee family are Afghan refugees who came to the United States on June 12, 2021, about a month before the frantic evacuations of the United States from Afghanistan.

About our speakers:

Jawid assisted with the U.S. mission in Afghanistan by doing translation and administrative work. His association with Americans meant he could not travel freely about his own country, so he had to hide his work from most people except those intimates he deeply trusted. After they left their country, Jawid and his family settled in Sacramento, California, joining many of his Afghan refugee-friends and colleagues. There he now works for Apple. While still an Afghan citizen, Jawid and his family members are each considered Permanent Residents here in the United States and each have their US Green Card.

About our event:

Our Good Friday Prayer Breakfast theme is “Take the child and his mother and flee…’ derived from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 2: 13-15, in which Joseph is warned to quickly gather Mary and Jesus and escape from King Herod’s efforts to slaughter them.  Our Prayer Breakfast will provide many of us an opportunity to personally meet a small component of the HUGE exodus of people who fled Afghanistan following the American withdrawal.

Ticket Information:

  • Single tickets: $80

  • Table of 6: $500
