Mass Information and Protocols for COVID-19 Pandemic

1. There will NOT be any Holy Water available for you to dip into until the Pandemic has ended.

2. The seating in the Hall and outdoors has been GREATLY REDUCED, with two empty chairs in between each seated person. Please be willing to sacrifice your old comforts and patterns in a small way for the safety of everyone….yourself included! Small children may sit on their parent’s laps….(as long as the parents don’t mind their legs going numb.)

3. We will NOT have any music or singing at our Masses.

4. Missalettes will NOT be available and printed Worship Aids will be for ‘single use only’

Worship Aids will be thrown away after each Mass.

5. Communion, the reception of the Consecrated Host, will occur at the conclusion of Mass, after the final blessing, and you will then depart from Church immediately without returning to your seat. Receiving the Precious Blood from the Chalice is still suspended and will NOT be offered.

6. There will NOT be any Hospitality (coffee, donuts and lemonade) nor any activities in which people will linger or mingle closely together. As the weeks go by, this may be relaxed.

7. The wearing of a FACE MASK is REQUIRED to enter Santa Clara for Mass. While disturbing to some, FACE MASKS help to prevent the spread of Covid19 when we are in proximity to other people.

The wearing of FACE MASKS  IS A  MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

  NOT  OPTIONAL

8. There will be three (3) Offertory Baskets placed on wooden pedestals in the center aisle, from front to back. Please drop your Offertory envelope or Offertory cash into the baskets at any time while you are at Mass. We will NOT be passing the collection basket back and forth between people. Our Hospitality Ministers will collect the cash/envelopes at the conclusion of each Mass and deposit it in the vault. You are reminded that we have installed a secure ‘DROP BOX’ adjacent to the Front Office Door (near the restrooms). You may place envelopes, cash or documents in the wall slot and they will be safely delivered to our parish Staff.

9. Bishop Kevin has made it very clear that people who are of ‘advanced years’ (over 65) or those with diminished health need not attend Sunday Mass. They are welcome to watch any of the televised services provided by the Cathedral or even attend a weekday 8:30 a.m. Mass (which will resume on Monday, June 15.)
